FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to techniques of entropy encoding and decoding for encoding and decoding a video signal. Disclosed is a video decoding method. Method includes a step of obtaining from a bit stream information on maximum size of coding unit. Further, method comprises obtaining from bit stream first information indicating whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in a video frame. Also, method comprises determining one or more maximum coding units included into first slice segment, based on maximum size of coding unit, which is determined by using information on maximum size.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of encoding/decoding a video signal.
