FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to techniques of entropy encoding and decoding for encoding and decoding a video signal. Method includes the step of receiving from the bit stream an information on the maximum size of the coding unit. Further as per the method received from the bit stream is the first information indicating, whether it is allowed to include a dependent slice segment in the video frame. As per the method also determined is the number of entry points of subsets, which include one or more maximum coding units of the first slice segment basing on the third information received from the bit stream slice segment header. Proposed is a video decoding method.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of encoding/decoding a video signal.
