FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods of cleaning of gases and materials used therefor. To reduce amount of CO2 in a source, containing carbon dioxide, following steps are carried out. Providing an ion-exchange material containing alkali-earth metal cation. Providing a cation source capable of replacing alkali-earth metal cation of ion-exchange material. Providing a source of alkali-earth metal cation. Contacting ion-exchange material and cation source to obtain a mixture, containing ion-exchange material and alkali-earth metal cation, released from ion-exchange material. Separating released metal cation from ion-exchange material. Contacting released metal cation with source containing carbon dioxide, to obtain a carbonate salt. Contacting ion-exchange material with a source of alkali-earth metal cation for recovery of ion-exchange material.
EFFECT: providing repeated use of ion-exchange material due to its regeneration, high stability of form of carbon dioxide over time and easy separation thereof.
