SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article, including an aerosol-forming substrate, to produce inhaled aerosol when heated by a heating element, as well as to a method of using such smoking article. Smoking article (1, 100, 200, 300) comprises a plurality of cylindrical elements, including front plug (2, 102, 202, 302) and aerosol-forming substrate (7), assembled in contact with cigarette paper (5) to form rod (15), wherein cigarette paper retains elements in their position by means of contact interaction, rod (15) has mouthpiece end (20) and distal end (30), located upstream of mouthpiece end (20), wherein front plug (2, 102, 202, 302) has length of 1 mm to 10 mm and is arranged upstream of aerosol-forming substrate (7) inside rod (15), wherein front plug is configured for insertion therein of heating element (8) of aerosol-generating device (11), so heating element (8) can be inserted into smoking article (1, 100, 200, 300) through front plug (2, 102, 202, 302) and in contact with aerosol-forming substrate (7), wherein front plug (102, 202, 302) forms hole (103, 303) or slot (203), through which can pass heating element (8).

EFFECT: technical result is enabling wiping of heater, when it is removed from article after use in order to remove aerosol-forming substrate attached to heater.
