FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: superconducting single-photon detector comprises a substrate, contact pads arranged thereon, a sensitive element in the form of a meander made of superconducting material, arranged between the contact pads, the ends of which are connected to the latter, wherein the sensitive element is connected in series to a stripline resistor whose resistance is greater than the resistance of the contact pads, arranged with spacing from the substrate, at a distance which is not greater than the value obtained using the following expression: L=V×(t/2), where V is the propagation speed of the signal in the line; t is pulse duration.

EFFECT: providing indefinite storage of information on the incidence of a single photon on a detector, high quantum efficiency of the detector.
