FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods which enable to align photon detectors relative optical radiation. The method for precision positioning of the sensitive element of a photon detector relative amplitude-modulated optical radiation involves biasing the sensitive element of the photon detector with direct current, followed by detection of the electric signal arising at contacts of the detector at modulation frequency of the radiation. The obtained signal is used as a parameter which determines the quality of positioning.
EFFECT: improved performance of the detector.
