SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical measurements and intended for defective insulating structure detecting, for example, high-voltage power transmission line insulators string, during remote control. Disclosed method of insulating structure state under voltage optical monitoring, includes electrical light emitter connection to insulating structure section, which light intensity depends on voltage drop on its electrodes, recording of optical radiation, determination of defect by emitter luminous intensity. At that, to increase accuracy emitter sensitivity is additionally adjusted by selecting electrodes dimensions, inclusion of trimming current limiting resistor and changing electrodes position in space. For electric discharges presence indicating to indicator electrodes inductance coil is additionally connected.

EFFECT: higher reliability and accuracy of insulating structures state monitoring.
