FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical measurements and is intended for determining the state of an insulating structure, for example, a string of insulators or a solid polymer insulator of a high-voltage power transmission line, when performing continuous monitoring in a system consisting of a plurality of such sensors mounted along a power transmission line. Sensor includes input unit with two electrodes (1 and 2), rectifier (3), input of which is connected to electrodes (1 and 2), and output through resistor with storage capacitor, first pulse former with electronic switch (4), connected to storage capacitor, second pulse shaper with electronic switch (5) connected to storage capacitor through electric valve (6) and rectifier (3) output through second capacitor, two-channel pulse frequency recorder (7), first and second inputs of which are connected to outputs of first and second pulse former (4 and 5) respectively, short-circuit indicator (8), wireless data transmitter (9) connected to pulses repetition frequency recorder outputs and short-circuit indicator, transmitting signals proportional to pulse repetition rate in each channel, as well as short-circuit signal when voltage level from signaling device at transmitter input is higher than set threshold.

EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring continuous recording of various conditions of insulating structure with indication of the presence of partial electric discharges on insulation and insulation of arc insulation (short circuit) while minimizing power consumption of device.
