SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to hydroacoustic and can be used for detected object coordinates measuring using short-range sonar. Method of detected object relative bearing automatic measurement includes emission of probing signal, receiving echo signal by directivity characteristics static fan, echo signal detection, measurement of distance, object direction measurement, isotropic interference level measurement after probing signal emission, selecting threshold, determining number of spatial channels Ni, in which threshold was exceeded, measurement of echo signals detection time, determination of detected echo signal Ai maximum amplitude in each channel, comparison of detection times and in case of their coincidence determination of number of spatial channels, if spatial channels are adjacent spatial channels, making decision, that this echo signal is from one object, and relative bearing is calculated from ratio of amplitudes in pattern characteristics.

EFFECT: use of proposed technical solution allows automatic measurement of detected object relative bearing and increase measurement accuracy by one echo signal.
