FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to methods of nano- and micro-sized magnetic materials productuin, namely to a method for production of ammonium vanadate with fresnoite structure composition (NH4)2V3O8. The method includes provision of an initial aqueous solution of ammonium metavanadate, addition of vanadyl hydrate to the sulfate solution with a molar ratio of 1:2 with respect to ammonium metavanadate and addition of 25% ammonium hydroxide solution dropwise until pH of 7-10 is established, thermal treatment of the resulting mixture, separation of precipitate, washing and drying.
EFFECT: technical and low-temperature process for preparation of ammonium vanadate with microplate morphology is provided, formation of by-products in the form of impurity phases is avoided, as well as technological parameters of the synthesis are expanded.
