FIELD: personal usage items.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides device (40) for hair care, which has detector (10) based on light for detection of hair (22) near skin surface (21), detector (10) comprises light source (11), optical elements (14, 16, 17, 18) and polarization-sensitive light sensor (12, 13). Light source (11) is intended for generation of light beam (31) with polarization of incident wave. Optical elements (14, 16, I7, 18) are provided for focusing of light beam (31) onto hair (22) near skin surface (21). Polarization-sensitive light sensor (12, 13) is provided for detecting light interacting with hair (22) or on skin surface (21) and has defined linear polarization. Light source (11) and/or optical elements (14, 16, 17, 18) are positioned so, that light beam (31) simultaneously has multiple spatially separated focuses (51, 52, 53) on or near hair (22) or skin surface (21).
