SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement technology and can be used to determine fire-hazard properties of materials and substances. Disclosed is an apparatus for determining the critical value of radiant heat flux. The apparatus includes a flat radiating panel made in form of rows of metal spirals, wound on ceramic tubes; a frame for a sample and measurement equipment. The apparatus further comprises a control unit for controlling heat flux from the radiating panel, which controls heat flux in the disclosed apparatus using a thermocouple installed in the ceramic tubes. The measurement equipment is in form of thermocouples mounted on the test sample.
EFFECT: invention improves measurement accuracy and reduces heat loss during tests.
