SUBSTANCE: entropy modifier is proposed, configured to bitwise encoding or decoding of a stream of input data bits characterized by the first value of entropy, to generate corresponding output data with modified entropy characterized by the second value of entropy, wherein the entropy modifier is adapted to process input data stream for processing groups of identical bits and the first bit value, and one or more maximum length sequences of groups of identical bits. Optionally, entropy modifier is configured to control one or more maximum length sequences of groups of identical bits with control code.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of data compression.
