SUBSTANCE: input data (D1) coding method includes determining substantially duplicate data blocks and/or data packets in at least one of the input data (D1) fragments. The data blocks and/or data packets include a corresponding plurality of elements, where the elements include a plurality of bits; determining whether the elements are unchanged within substantially repeating data blocks and/or data packets, and/or determining that the elements within the substantially repeating data blocks and/or data packets are changing; encoding the unchanged elements into the encoded data (E2) using at least one corresponding symbol or at least one corresponding bit indicating that there is no change in the unchanged elements compared to the corresponding elements in the reference data block and/or data packet; and encoding the changed elements into encoded data (E2).
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the data compression.
