SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of data coding. This method of encoding the input data in the encoder to form the corresponding encoded data includes: receiving the data (D1) to be encoded and analyzing sub-portions of the data (D1) to be encoded to determine encoding methods which are to be applied to encode the sub-portions, wherein the one or more encoding methods contain an algorithm that uses interpolation; computing one or more interpolation parameters for the at least one interpolation algorithm, wherein the interpolation parameters contain fewer or equal number of data values compared with half the number of data values in the sub-portions of the data D1; encoding the sub-portions using the encoding method that includes one interpolation algorithm; encoding the remaining sub-portions of the data D1 using other encoding methods and including in the encoded data (E2) information identifying the sub-portions and appropriate encoding methods that are used for encoding and interpolation parameters calculated for one or more sub-portions.
EFFECT: technical result is ensuring effective data compression.
