FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and may be used for monitoring of natural and waste water as part of general environmental monitoring. The method involves determination of ethyl benzene, decane, nicotinic acid and nicotinamide in water by taking water samples directly into cartridges filled with a polymer adsorbent material. Cross-linked copolymer of acrylamide is used as a polymer adsorbent and has water adsorption ability of 10 to 200 g/g. Its macromolecules contain 5 to 100 mol.% of units of dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate, or 2-acrylamido-propanesulphonic acid, or 1-10% of chitosan units. Known test methods are used for analysis of the solutions extracted from the adsorbent.
EFFECT: invented method achieves 10-fold reduction of water sampling time at various ambient temperatures and allows for sample analysis for paraffins, benzene hydrocarbons, organic amides and their acids.
