SUBSTANCE: invention relates to percussion musical instruments and can be used in production of musical instruments. Percussion musical instrument comprises a hollow body in the form of a parallelepiped with a bass reflex in the form of a hole and with six faces: the bottom, the top, the left, the right, the rear and the front decks, a snare head with strings, a substrate and a gasket, a mechanism to control the position of the substrate with the snare head relative to the front deck. Control mechanism is made helical and includes a screw pin, an Erikson nut and a T-nut. Screw pin is rigidly connected with the Erikson nut, which are installed on the rear face with the possibility of rotation. T-nut is rigidly installed on the substrate and is kinematically connected with the pin with the possibility of a plane-parallel movement of the substrate with the snare head and the gasket relative to the surface of the front deck in guides. Strings on the snare head are placed arched, with the convex part towards the front deck. Front deck is installed on the body with a gap in the angles coupled with the top, the left and the right faces. Bass reflex is composed as a rectangular hole on the lower part of the front surface of the musical instrument limited by the bottom, the left and the right faces of the musical instrument body and an intermediate insert connecting the left and the right faces. Front deck is connected to the top, the left and the right faces and the intermediate insert.

EFFECT: provided is expanded range of sounds and improved purity of the sound in different ranges.
