SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of gas analysis. The method for measuring carbon dioxide content in nitrogen, according to the invention, is that an electrochemical cell is placed into the sample gas stream, having the cavity formed by two discs of the solid proton conducting electrolyte of the composition La0,9Sr0,1XO3-s; on the opposite surfaces of one disk the electrodes are located, to which DC voltage in the limits of 400-500 mV is fed, with feeding the negative pole to the internal electrode, whereby the electrolysis of water vapours in the sample gas and pumping the hydrogen obtained by the electrolysis from the sample gas stream into the cell cavity by the electrochemical circuit of the disk with the electrodes: the outer electrode - solid electrolyte - the inner electrode in the process is carried out; in the process of reaching the stationary state where the diffusion stream of recovery carbon dioxide products from the cell cavity will be equal to the incoming stream of the sample gas, the limit current flowing through the cell is measured, and by the value of the current limit corresponding to the content of the hydrogen spent on the carbon dioxide recovery, the concentration of carbon dioxide in nitrogen is determined.

EFFECT: invention enables simple and reliable measurement of carbon dioxide in nitrogen.
