SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image interpolation. Motion compensation device comprises a processor, configured to determine, in a luma reference picture, a luma reference block for prediction of current block by using a luma motion vector, generating a pixel value of a 2/4 pixel location by applying an interpolation filter to values of integer locations and generating a value of a1/4- or 3/4-position by applying interpolation filter to values of integer locations without using generated value of 2/4-location. Image is divided into a plurality of maximum coding units, which are hierarchically are divided into depth coding units, including current and lower depth, according to division information. Depending on division information current depth coding unit is divided into four coding units of lower depth or prediction units are obtained from current depth coding units.
EFFECT: high accuracy of generating fractional pixel units.
