SUBSTANCE: for ischemic stroke treatment, brain bypass surgery is performed to create a microvascular or large-bore anastomosis. Stem cells are then introduced in the shunt directly to the ischemic area on the surgery side.
EFFECT: selective stem cells delivery to the ischemic brain tissue, which creates favourable conditions for their further differentiation into nerve cells.
