SUBSTANCE: invention relates to piston compressors, used in oil and gas industry, having valve assemblies, in which closing valve element is connected with a counter-seat. Valve assembly comprises a drive 337, providing straight movement, and valve 200 with seat 210 to provide passage of fluid medium through inlet hole 240 of valve seat. Counter-seat is connected with drive and is configured to provide passage of fluid medium through outlet hole 250. Closing valve element 230 is connected to counter-seat, arranged and configured to close inlet hole 240 when counter-seat is in closed position. Counter-seat, to which is transmitted rectilinear motion from drive ,moves between closed position and open position corresponding to open inlet hole, to allow passage of fluid medium through a flow channel, which includes inlet 240 and outlet 250.
EFFECT: reduced volume of compression chamber.
