SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiology and sports medicine. Electrocardiogram is recorded at bicycle ergometric examination of patient with subsequent rhythmogram statistic analysis. Analysis is carried out by extracting sequential time series of RR-intervals and determining pNN15 – percentage of pairs of RR intervals with difference 15 Ms and more to total number of RR intervals on 3-minute loading period. Value of pNN15 causes reduction potential level. If the pNN15 is less than 2 %, it shows low reducing potential. If pNN15 is more than 7 %, it shows high reducing potential.

EFFECT: method enables to perform early objective prediction of possibility of reducing potential of sportsmen.
