FIELD: rocketry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed expandable nozzle of rocket engine has stationary part, extensible conical head, longitudinal tooth-and-rack guides, extension drive, axles of shafts with fitted-on gears square to axis of nozzle and engaging with longitudinal tooth-and-rack guides and with end face teeth on ring installed on extensible conical head for rotation around central axis of nozzle. Radial supports are mounted on stationary part of nozzle at its section uniformly over perimeter for turning opposite to side of extension in plane passing through axis of nozzle. Each support on extensible head is secured on axis directed tangentially relative to circumference in plane of mounting of radial supports. Surface in contact with supports on stationary part of nozzle is made diverging towards nozzle exit section.
EFFECT: provision of high structural rigidly of expandable nozzle at any modes of engine operation and high reliability of nozzle in operation.
