FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: method of producing butyl rubber by isobutylene-isoprene copolymerization in chloroorganic dilutant, e.g. methyl chloride, in presence of Friedel-Krafts catalyst involving deactivation of catalyst, degassing, and two or more additional steps, stabilization of polymer and isolation thereof from aqueous dispersion, drying of polymer in worm machines, processing of dilutant stripped in degassing stage and non-polymerized monomers, and preparation of blend, is distinguished with carrying out isobutylene-isoprene copolymerization process in a mixture of dilutant with isopentane containing 0.25-15.0 wt % of the latter. EFFECT: enhanced process. 1 tbl
