METHOD FOR MICROPARTICLE MASS DETERMINATION IN AN ALTERNATING ELECTRIC FIELD Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01N33/483

Abstract RU 2614735 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: to determine the microparticle mass in a suspension, a measuring volume is formed between two electrodes connected to an alternating voltage source and located in the chamber with liquid, particles are dispersed in this volume, parameters of particle interaction with the electric field and the subsequent calculation of its mass are performed. At that, a non-uniform alternating electric field is formed between the electrodes, and a liquid medium with a low conductivity, with predetermined temperature and characteristics that do not alter biochemical properties and physical parameters of the particle, is used as the liquid. Particle is brought to reciprocating movement with a predetermined amplitude equal to (0.5-0.6) of the distance between the electrodes in the measuring volume under the influence of a non-uniform alternating electric field with an average intensity of E~104-106 V/m, voltage of 4-8 V and frequency in the range of 1-18 Hz. A video of particle reciprocating movement between the electrodes in the measuring volume is shot. The video image is processed by a computer program to obtain data on the particle radius, frequency and amplitude of its fluctuation between the electrodes. Software is used to calculate the particle reciprocating motion speed. Distilled water or a or 0.3M sucrose solution is used as the liquid medium. A microparticle is a latex particle, a single spore bacteria, a separate animal erythrocyte or a separate vegetative bacteria cell.

EFFECT: invention allows to determine the microparticle mass in a suspension.
