FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in radial forging of strip profiles. Method comprises multi-pass radial forging of workpiece with reduction using two mutually perpendicular pairs of dies. Working surfaces of dies are shifted relative to each other along forging axis by a value exceeding length of working surface of die. Reduction is performed cyclically for an even number of cycles of deformation. Each cycle includes one or more passes. In odd cycles reduction is performed with a pair of dies having a working surface with convex pass. In even cycles of deformation reduction is carried out with a pair of dies with working surface, having flat pass. After every cycle workpiece is turned about forging axis through angle π/2.
EFFECT: higher efficiency, reduced power consumption on deformation and broader technical capabilities.
