FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises a nozzle for protective gas supplying to the welding zone and a fixture with ribs formed on the side facing the workpiece surface, fixed thereon and provided with bearings for moving over it. Bearings height is chosen for obtaining a shaped gap between the fixture and protected surface. Said fixture ribs are made with at least two side longitudinal channels covered at the front, their profile is shaped for protecting gas vortexlike swirling from a torch nozzle. Fixture has an open front entrance, and a welding torch nozzle is used as a nozzle for protective gas supplying.
EFFECT: increased burner nozzle life.
