FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication engineering and can be used in broadband digital communication systems. For this purpose, an OFDM transmitter and an OFDM receiver respectively transmit and receive N control symbols. For each control symbol a time-domain signal of protective interval is identical to, for example, a signal obtained by shifting frequency of at least part of time-domain signal of a useful symbol by a value different from any other symbol, or signal obtained by frequency shift in one or both of part and range of time-domain signal of interval of useful symbol, different from any other symbol, by a predetermined value.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of transmission capacity.
