FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry of rare elements, namely rhenium (VII) and may be used for determination of rhenium in waste water, lean solutions, alumo-platinum-rhenium and alumo-rhenium catalysts, and geological materials. The method involves preparation of rhenium (VII) solution, reduction to rhenium (IV) using tin chloride (II) solution, converting into a complex compound, separation adsorbent from the solution, measurement of diffuse reflectance factor at 510 nm and determination of rhenium (IV) using an analytical curve. Silica, chemically modified with N-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thoil)-N'-propyl-urea groups is used as an adsorbent.
EFFECT: reduced relative detection limit, extended range of detectable concentrations.
