FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises injecting water steam into said material simultaneously with the first heat treatment carried out by calcining the material at a temperature ranging from 1200 to 1500°C. Wherein the first heat treatment is preceded by the stage of drying the material for the quality control of the water in the reactor. The possibility of carrying out the second heat treatment (RO2, RO3) after the first heat treatment (RO1), at a lower temperature, with injection of oxocarbon for providing the oxidation process according to the Boudouard reaction, is provided as well.
EFFECT: reducing the mass ablation from graphite and reducing the secondary waste volume.
