FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: neutron detector comprises the outer shell limiting an interior volume, at least a portion of the wall, serving as a cathode, the central structure disposed in the interior volume and serving as an anode, boron coating on the wall portion, the boron coating being applied by means of the electrostatical spraying, and the electrical connector operably connected to the central structure for transmitting the signal collected by the central structure; wherein the boron coating includes insoluble residue mixed with boron in an amount of less than 7.00×10-4 g of the soluble residue per 1 g of boron.
EFFECT: increased neutron detector efficiency .
