FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for extinguishing of large areas of combustion of combustible and highly flammable liquids, stored in storage facilities and reservoirs. Essence of method consists in that, in method of fire protection of reservoirs for storage of liquid combustibles, including preparation and supply under pressure of a foaming agent solution to form gas-filled foam and extinguishing fire source using said fire-extinguishing substance, first part of stream of foaming agent solution, saturated with gas, is fed along combustion surface along perimeter of reservoir walls, said stream is rotated by Coriolis force, occurring on surface of liquid combustibles, and retained in peripheral region of field of centrifugal forces, and second part of stream of said fire-extinguishing substance is fed along combustion surface from peripheral region towards centre of fan-shaped flow with deviation angle of opening of jet towards rotation of first stream, wherein both streams are fed at different levels over combustion surface, and foaming process is carried out directly at contact of all parts of foaming agent stream from combustion surface due to change of pressure and heating of fire extinguishing agent on combustion surface.

EFFECT: proposed system of fire protection of reservoirs for storage of liquid combustibles implements proposed method and confirms its efficiency during fire tests on model of reservoir for storage of liquid combustibles.
