FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a device for automated prevention and extinguishing of fires on large tanks with highly-flammable and combustible liquid. Method for automated prevention and fire extinguishing on large tanks with combustible and flammable liquid includes generation and supply of fire extinguishing jets to reservoir, wherein generation and supply to reservoir of jets of fire extinguishing agent is carried out by automated fire extinguishing appliances, located in idle position beyond perimeter of reservoir below upper edge of walls, and automatically rising vertically upwards above upper edge of tank walls, and turning mainly in horizontal plane into working position inside perimeter of reservoir.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of explosion and fire prevention and extinguishing of fires on large tanks with combustible and highly flammable liquids and in improvement of protection and reliability of automated fire extinguishing means.
