FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: dowel comprises two webs with expansion elements, extending in the longitudinal direction of the dowel, which are spaced from the webs in opposite directions along the perimeter, wherein the webs and the expansion elements surround a cavity which extends in the longitudinal direction of the dowel and forms a channel for expanding, into which the expansion pin for expanding the expansion dowel is inserted; the expansion elements while extending are rotated outwardly around the axes extending in the longitudinal direction of the dowel or diagonally, wherein the expansion elements are connected to connecting elements having the possibility to stretch and break off, which extend diagonally to the longitudinal direction of the dowel.

EFFECT: expansion dowel of the type described above reduces the risk of the expansion pin getting out sideways, when installed in the expansion dowel.
