TYMPANIC SHUNT INSTALLATION METHOD IN TYMPANOPLASTY Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61F11/00 A61B17/00

SUBSTANCE: meato-tympal flap is separated. An autofascial transplant is formed from temporalis muscle fascia. An autocartilage half-plates, 0.4-0.5 mm thick, is removed from the region between the antihelix and hlix or from the triangular fossa of the ear, corresponding to the eardrum area. A cut is formed in the cartilage transplant to stabilise it on the hammer handle, and a shunt hole under for its installation and fixation. The autocartilage half-plate notch is placed on the hammer handle with perichondrium directed outwards, so that the shunt is in its anteroinferior quadrant. The autofacial transplant is laid between the autocartilage half-plate and the eardrum remnants, without shunt overlaying. The meato-tympal flap is returned to its original place.

EFFECT: method provides rigid fixation of the tympanic shunt due to installation in the cartilage half-plates laid on the hammer handle and preserving the tympanic cavity depth, and allows to preserve tympanic membrane concavity by placing the autocartilage half-plate with the perichondrium directed outside.
