FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention generally relates to control systems and, more particularly, to a method for determining the electrical conductivity of an object or material. The system comprises a sensor able to emit electromagnetic field after receiving the exciting signal, wherein if an object is placed in the said electromagnetic field, it interacts with the object. The signal processing circuit connected to the sensor and configured to: provide the adjustable sensor capacity for regulating the phase angle of the current flowing through the sensor; perfrom the measurement of the voltage corresponding to the voltage on the sensor; perfrom the measurement of the current corresponding to the current flowing through the sensor. A controller coupled to the signal processing circuit configured to: calculate the complex sensor conductivity based on the voltage and current measurement and determinate the electrical conductivity of the object based on the calculated complex sensor conductivity. Wherein the system is configured to determine the electrical conductivity of the object when the sensor is not in the resonant state.
EFFECT: invention provides increasing accuracy of the measurement of the electrical conductivity of an object or material.
