FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: steel slab having a composition containing, by mass%, or ppm by weight: C: 0.08 or less, Si: 2.0 to 4.5, Mn: 0.5 or less, S: less than 50 ppm, Se: at least 50 ppm, O: less than 50 ppm, sol. Al: less than 100 ppm, N: 80 ppm or less, the rest is Fe and unavoidable impurities, and if necessary reheated, is hot-rolled to obtain a hot-rolled steel sheet. The slab composition satisfies the following condition: sol. Al (ppm) - N (ppm) × (26.98/14.00) ≤ 30 ppm. The hot-rolled sheet is annealed and cold rolled to produce a cold rolled sheet of the desired thickness. Primary recrystallization annealing is performed, thus, before, during or after the primary recrystallization annealing, nitriding is performed. The annealing separator is applied to the primary-recrystallized cold-rolled sheet and it is subjected to secondary recrystallization annealing.
EFFECT: achievement of high magnetic properties.
