FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of engine operation lies in the fact that during the engine (210) operation a flow of exhaust gases through the first, second and third catalytic converters (82A, 82B), (84A, 84B), (70A, 70B) is ensured for accumulating at least some of the exhaust ammonia in the first catalytic converter (82A, 82B). The second catalytic converter (84A, 84B) is positioned downstream of the first catalytic converter (82A, 82B). The third catalytic converter (70A, 70B) is positioned upstream of the first catalytic converter (82A, 82B). The engine (210) is deactivated on a sampling basis during the stop-start, during the re-start of the engine (210) regeneration of the third catalytic converter (70A, 70B) is controlled in the stop-start mode on the basis of the ammonia content in the first catalytic converter (82A, 82B). Invention discloses the engine operation process and system.
EFFECT: reduction of the hazardous exhaust emissions and improvement of exhaust gases catalytic converter regeneration after the engine operation with lean mixtures.
