SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre optic probes. System based on a strain gauge and method for its producing and use include: optical fibre, optical signal generator transmitting optical signal through said optical fibre. Photonic crystal plate elements in said optical fibre, separated by an optical fibre portion. Photosensor which detects the optical signal reflected from said photonic crystal plate elements. Processing device which calculates the mechanical deformation based on reflected optical signal detected by photosensor.
EFFECT: invention allows to create a fibre-optic strain gauge to select the wavelength of light emitted, ensuring operation with laser source or without it and interaction with several strain gauges on the same fibre.
