FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, namely to transgenic plant with reduced amount of lignin compared to wild plant of the same type, where plant has polynucleotide coding mutant protein of cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase 2 (CAD2), as well as to method of its identification. Method of producing genetically engineered plants with brown fibre phenotype is disclosed involving introduction of nucleotide sequence coding mutant CAD2 protein in plant, method of animal fattening feeded with silo including animal fattening with silo based on maize with reduced amount of lignin, as well as method of introducing gene of maize mutant CAD2 protein in plant. Invention also relates to final ration for beef domestic oxen, involving silo based on maize with reduced amount of lignin.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to efficiently obtain transgenic plant with reduced amount of lignin compared to wild plant of the same type.
