METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUS SURGICAL TREATMENT OF PATHOLOGICAL TORTUOSITY OF COMMON CAROTID ARTERY AND INTERNAL CAROTID ARTERY Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: after arteries clamping, the internal carotid artery (ICA) is cut off from the fork in oblique direction and dissected along its inner surface in the distal direction considering its abundance. The external carotid artery (ECA) is dissected along the outer surface in the distal direction considering the dissected ICA. The common carotid artery (CCA) is dissected proximally. Then ICA is relegated to the mouth in the CCA with tortuosity correction and anastomosis 1/2 is formed end to side. A vascular suture is formed between the rear wall of ECA, CCA and the front wall of ICA. CCA is crossed in oblique direction at the lower edge of the formed reimplanted ICA anastomosis. CCA free portion is dissected in proximal direction to its front wall to remove the excess artery. An oblique anastomosis is formed between the formed 1/2 anastomosis of ICA, ECA and a part of CCA, and CCA stretched "end to end" with corrected CCA tortuosity.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the effectiveness of treatment of patients with cerebral ischemia due to elimination of combined tortuosity of common and internal carotid arteries.
