FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to devices and methods for actuating the valves used in piston-type compressors in oil and gas industry. Valve assembly 400 includes actuating mechanism 410 designed to provide for motion. Shaft 430 is adapted to transfer the said motion from the actuating mechanism to the closing element of the valve of the piston-type compressor. The motion transfer mechanism is connected to the shaft and configured to increase the said motion and/or force associated with the motion generated by the actuating mechanism to actuate the valve closing element.

EFFECT: invention increases motion and/or force associated with the motion of the actuating mechanism to the actuator side of the valve.
