FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises study of VEGF levels and circulating tumor cells in patients blood, characterized by VEGF level determination in the patient's peripheral blood on the 7th day after surgery, then 6 cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy are performed, 3 weeks after the 6 courses of adjuvant chemotherapy, the VEGF level and number of circulating tumor cells is determined in the patient's peripheral blood, if the VEGF level increases two times or more, and circulating tumor cells content increases five times in 7.5 ml of blood, absence of tumor stabilization is determined in 100% of cases, which is an indication for increased required number of adjuvant chemotherapy courses.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows to individualize treatment, increase adjuvant chemotherapy duration with adverse prognostic factors, to reduce the rate of colorectal cancer progression.
