IMPROVED MEMBRANE UNIT WITH DEFORMABLE MEMBRANE (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G02C7/08

Abstract RU 2619394 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: membrane assembly with a deformable membrane, including a fixed support, a fluid-filled shell, one wall of which is formed by an elastic membrane that is held under tension by its edge by a flexible membrane support element 2, 10 connected to the fixed support at individual control points 120 disposed with intervals along the circumference of the support element, by means of respective cooperating elements for controlling the position of the edge of the membrane with respect to the fixed support at the control points. Moreover, the support element between the control points is free. The inventive membrane assembly further comprises a selectively actuated pressure regulator for regulating the pressure of the fluid in the shell and thereby controlling the shape of the membrane; where there are at least three adjustment points spaced along the edge of the membrane on the support element and selected so as to increase, in response to the tension from the membrane tension, the energy of the out-of-plane bending modes of the lower order support element that do not have a node point on the entire support element. In addition, points are stated, including a membrane unit with a deformable membrane of the types described.

EFFECT: creation of an adjustable fluid-filled lens in which the deformation of the membrane and the membrane support element is stabilized against undesirable modes of deformation and other out-of-plane distortions.
