FIELD: optics; manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: method of assembling an adjustable lens unit involves a biaxial stretching of the thermoplastic elastomer membrane to an initial surface tension of at least 450 N/m, thermal treatment of stretched membrane to accelerate its attenuation to residual surface tension from 180 N/m to 550 N/m, attaching the treated membrane to the peripheral support structure while maintaining residual surface tension, assembling the fixed membrane with components to form a chamber, one of the walls of which forms a treated membrane, and filling the chamber with fluid medium. Support structure can contain bending rings arranged with the possibility of retaining membrane around its edge. On the surface of the membrane, internal or external, can be coated from a material having a modulus of elasticity greater than the modulus of elasticity of the membrane, and arranged with compression to counteract tension in membrane, which enables to reduce planar force applied by membrane to rings.
EFFECT: technical result is maintaining substantially constant surface tension of at least 180 N/m for a period of time of at least 12 months.
