FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves reacting a reagent immobilised into an optical membrane with an analyte, its subsequent separation from the solution and evaluating the value of antioxidant activity. The membrane used is a polymethacrylate matrix with an immobilised iron (III)-o-phenanthroline system. The analytical signal is presented in form of light absorption at (510±20) nm, light coordinate or visual evaluation of colour intensity of the membrane. Integral antioxidant activity is quantitatively and/or qualitatively evaluated using a calibration curve and/or colour scale plotted for ascorbic acid which is used as the standard substance.
EFFECT: higher reliability and information content of the determination process.
