FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: method for forming the circular zone of a cylindrical phased antenna array electron scanning is based on placing radiators on its surface, combined along the cylinder generator into equidistantly arranged radiator lines that form the same radiated patterns; determining sizes of radiator lines angular sector; radiating flat field by electronic control of phase shift of signals passing through the radiators. Active radiator lines are separated within the angular sector, bringing the signal to them by means of electronic inclusion, and for the in-phase addition of radiated fields in the direction of the antenna beam, the phases of the signals applied to the active radiator lines are changed by (1) values, where i are the numbers of active radiator lines (i>0); λ - the wavelength in the propagation medium of the radiated field; R is the cylinder radius; ϕ0 is the direction of the antenna beam in the azimuth plane; ϕi is an angular position of the i-th active radiator line in the azimuth plane; ψi is the initial phase of signal applied to the i-th active radiator line.

EFFECT: achieving the possibility of forming a circular electron scanning zone of a cylindrical PHA in the azimuth plane with the ability to control relative level of maximum side lobes for any beam direction.
