SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions refers to medicine, particularly to molecular biology. Disclosed is a method for detecting an individual of a US mink, which is a carrier of at least one allele, which determines formation of the desired colour variation, involving genotyping of the animal by the MLPH gene and detecting the presence or absence of polymorphic variation c. 901 + 1G > A (p), as well as gene typing by MITF-M gene and detection of presence or absence of polymorphic variation c. 33 + 1G > A (h). Disclosed is use of said method for sampling American mink among available stock of farm minks.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions provides higher efficiency of production of fur of specified colour and breeding of corresponding lines of animals.
