FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: preparation of a liquid glass includes the preparation of a suspension where a silica-containing amorphous substance is used as a silica-containing material in the form of a residue after acid leaching of serpentinite with a solution of ammonium hydrogen sulfate with a fraction larger 0.15 mm, which is ground to particles with an average effective diameter of 0.1-0.2 mm. The iron-containing particles are separated by magnetic separation and solid sodium hydroxide is added. The resulting mixture is ground to a uniform state and to particles with an average effective diameter of 0.1-0.2 mm and heat-activated at a temperature of 175-200°C for 20-30 minutes. Then hot water with a temperature of 58-68°C is added and stirred until a suspension of the silica-containing amorphous substance is obtained in a solution of sodium hydroxide.

EFFECT: reduction of the time required for the hydrothermal treatment of a silica-containing substance suspension in a sodium hydroxide solution to produce a better liquid glass.
