FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing liquid glass for producing structural materials and can be used in producing heat-insulation and other articles. The method includes preparing a suspension from a silica-containing amorphous material in sodium hydroxide solution with concentration of 150-250 g/dm3, wherein the sodium hydroxide solution is prepared in advance on electro-activated water - catholyte with pH 12-13, wherein the silica-containing amorphous material used is vegetable oil production wastes - filter diatomite powder of bergmeal, regenerated by calcining the powder until complete removal of organic residues and free moisture. Hydrothermal treatment of the suspension with steam obtained from the electro-activated water - catholyte with pH 10-11 is then performed. The obtained liquid glass is filtered and concentrated. In these conditions, alkali consumption is reduced and the modulus number of the liquid glass increases.
EFFECT: obtained liquid sodium glass has a wide density range and can be used to produce structural materials and in production of heat-insulation and other articles.
